Thank You Father
10/14/2000
Gratitude has a cleansing effect on your soul, healing us
from inside out. To say “thank you” is an act of spiritual power.
When something good happens and we give thanks for it - recognizing
it as a blessing - then its positive effect expands within us.
Gratitude is the opener of locked up blessings. Very often I say
"Thank you, God" when a gift in my life comes my way in ribbons
and bows. But just as often I say "Thank you, God" when the gift
has been wrapped in sadness and heartache.
" Thank you" - because I am determined to see the lesson. "Thank you" -
because I know there is a gift here even if I cannot yet see it.
I have noticed that with every unhappy loss there comes at last
a stunning win of some kind. And when that win arrives it is more
than wrapped in bows: it is accompanied by shooting stars.
And then I don't shout "Thank you, God" - I whisper it.
My gratitude echoes softly through my entire being.
There is no problem created that can compare to the CREATOR
of all things. If the only prayer you ever say in your life is
"Thank you, DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER".... that would suffice.
