This Christmas

This Christmas

December 12, 2008

This Christmas is full of woe
Pulling us under the under tow
Sadness abounds and takes a hold
Making us forget the story told

This Christmas is dark and bleak
It makes us fret from week to week
It give us worry and wrinkles too
It makes us to not think of YOU

This Christmas the rain falls down
And muddies up our hearts and the ground
It blurs our visions of sugar plums
And makes us sigh and say Ho Hum

This Christmas the joy is gone
It takes away our feeling of home
It makes the songs we sing so sad
It makes our glee into raging mad

BUT
A Voice from above I hear so slight
That whispers to me into the night
The story forgotten is still so true
It's told forever for me and you

Cheer up and sing praises clear
That should be said through out the year
The Love's not lost for eternity
That Father plead for us to see

Though the world continues to turn and rip
Cannot suspend love from His lips
A Blessed gift He gave to us
To lift our hearts when about to bust

Look past it all and clear the view
The gift He gave to me and you
Should warm our hearts and make us smile
The story told of that precious child

So this Christmas is not what we imagine
For the truths distorted by the world's perception
Depression projected and hardships abound
Is only the world pulling us down

Look above and beyond onto the light
For a GIFT was given upon this night
That cuts the darkness to the clear
That will sustain us all throughout the year

This Christmas is a promise kept
To remind us all when we wept
That Father is and Son shall be
Forever a Saviour for you and me.

Merry Christmas
